A visual nail indicator allows you to keep an eye on the number of nails in the magazine.

    Designed for Comfort and Efficiency

For further ease of use, Hitachi equipped the NT50AE2 with an adjustable, 360-degree exhaust vent. Also, an included no-mar nose cap protects the workpiece and the tool.

The NT50AE2 requires 70-120 psi operating pressure to function properly. It takes in air at a rate of 0.025 cubic feet per cycle at 100 psi.

    1no good  Aug 28, 2010
I had this gun a month now. The nails are getting stuck behind the magazine advance, so the nails don't advance I have to open it up and unstick the nails. maybe I just go a bad one, but don't like its design. I am going back to porter cable.

5Great little nailer so far.  Aug 14, 2010
We used it for the first time today to install mdf baseboard trim. This is our first nailer and we chose it after reading the great reviews on it. The owners manual has tons of information that made operation very clear. (Too bad the Makita air compressor's manual wasn't as good). Light weight and easy to handle. Easy to load the nails. All the adjustments are easy to find and use. We use the depth adjuster on the nailer and practiced with different air pressures to see which worked best.

We used it at 100lbs psi and set the nails just below the surface consistantly each time. My husband did one room on his hands and knees in uncomfortable positions driving nails with a hammer before we got this nailer and hated every minute of it. This nailer makes the job actually enjoyable!

We found that Lowes had a good selection of nails compared to Home Depot.(Since I posted this review we found more nails and nail guns at Home Depot in another section of the store which is confusing.) Lowes also sold this nailer but it was much more and they wouldn't honor online competitive prices and would not sell it to us for the same price as Amazon. We tried to take advantage of the Hitachi $10.00 rebate but missed the cut off by 5 days and I called Hitachi and they would not honor extention of rebate. We had been looking at the Hitachi nail guns online and waited to see them in person at a store before buying them. Porter Cable is much better about rebates than Hitachi. Hitachi could learn a thing or two from Porter Cable's rebate system. Not only did Porter Cable allow me an extention on a $50.00 rebate for 16" omni jig but set up the rebate online before they even received a thing for me so when I did mail in the UPC from the box it was already pre approved and I got the rebate within a month! Hitachi couldn't do that for a $10.00 rebate!

We have a whole house to trim out and will be building cabinets and decided we needed a smaller brad nailer which will work for both. We thought about getting a 15 gage finish nailer but decided on this one after looking at the nails in the store and trying them on for size and liked this lighter more manuverable nailer.

Love the ajustable exhaust to blow dust off the working surface. It comes with a nice carrying case, extra nose cap and safety glasses.

    2Not So Good  Aug 10, 2010
1).Because of the safty position You have to hold nailer sideways or upside down to tack casing on top of a door or window.
2).Started to mishit nails from day 1. (1 out of 10-15 nails would need a nailset.)
It sits on a shelf unused. (used less than a week)
2 stars because it was cheap, light, and looked good.
May work for light duty home use, but don't buy if You plan to use it daily.

    5Worth Every Penny  Aug 04, 2010
This is a great brad nailer at a very fair price. My only regret is I didn't get this tool years ago. We recently remodeled a bathroom and I had to install new trim. When I did the same thing 2 years ago in another, smaller, bathroom, it literally took me a couple hours to drill the nail holes (to prevent splitting), nail up the trim, and then sink the nails with a nail set. This past weekend it took me 20 minutes including the setup/tear-down of the compressor. I have a a very small Husky 1.5 gallon compressor that delivers 2 CFM at 80 PSI and it had no problem running the gun in single fire mode. This is my fist pneumatic nailer so I practiced on some scrap trim to get the depth set correctly. All the controls are well documented in the user guide and were easy to work on my unit. The nailer has tremendous power, even with my small compressor, and easily drove 2", 18 gauge brads through Oak trim into drywall and pine studs. My compressor doesn't have a built in oiler so I put 10 drops of pneumatic tool oil in the air inlet as recommended in the user guide. The nailer doesn't come with oil or brads. I picked both up at my local Lowes, using the Bostitch brads recommended by another reviewer. Indoors this is a very loud tool so I wore hearing protectors (purchased separately) along with the safety glasses supplied with the tool.

    5One of the best!  Jul 30, 2010
This is a soild brad nailer! It is easy to use super light having shot thousands of brads all different sizes I have to say it is a winner I look my senco but Hitachi did a better job! I like how light it is I have use porter cable senco and off brads but I have to say I look to grap this guy first to but anything togther!
