very nice May 20, 2011
By steveinmd Very happy with this set. Haven't used the circular saw or angle grinder yet. I like the fact that the blade and motor are reversed. You definitely can see your cut better just by looking at it. I used one battery to rotate two sets of tires (separate impact wrench), remove and replace an additional two wheels, run the drill and driver to install a base cabinet/countertop with peg board and run their blower. Very impressed with this kit and am happy I chose hitachi.

8 months use and BOTH batteries dead Jul 09, 2010
By Gerald Lam
"wnderman"
I purchased this Hitachi 6 pack in June 2010. I am a light user. I had not used the equipment and batteries for the past 6 weeks. Now, both batteries are dead and will not charge. The charger reads that each battery is broken. The charger does charge a third battery that I borrowed and am using. I tried to charge up the 2 batteries several times thereafter, however, they still read as broken and will not charge. I believe that Hitachi's EMB1830 18V 3.0Ah Li-ion HXP batteries are bad products and cannot be relied upon. As a result, I believe that these Hitachi power tools should be avoided at all costs. Without batteries, they are worthless.
This is a terrible and disappointing product. All 6 power tools at about $600 cost are now worthless.
AMENDED REVIEW - NOVEMBER 11, 2011
I just purchased another new Hitachi EBM1830 from Amazon receiving it on September 19, 2011. I charged it and used it for about 10 minutes. A week later, I used it for about 5 minutes and then charged it again. I store the battery in a covered garage separate from the charger. The first week of October, I used it for about 10 minutes and stored it away in the garage. On October 15, it would not charge and the charger indicates it as broken. Hitachi battery sales seem fraudulent. Something is just not right with this product manufacturing, distribution and sales.
