Not satisfied Dec 12, 2009 It works fine at the beginning then it slipped. It's ok for small bit, slip for bits size above 3/8".
Power! Nov 29, 2009 Hammer drilled 42 holes, 1/2" diameter, at a 6" depth into a concrete block retaining wall, cells filled with concrete. Wow this thing took about 20 seconds for each hole using a little drizzle of water to keep the Hilti Quad carbide bit head cool (I paid a whopping $50 for this bit but was worth it, lasts longer and cuts faster and I can sharpen the carbide bits). It comes with a nice case and at $168 including shipping and handling, it's a steal!

Power forward but not reverse May 21, 2009 Bought this rotary for a friend. I own a Bosch 11224 bulldog. The bosch is quieter and has less vibration. The Hitachi beats the bosch on pure power but only in forward. Reverse on the Hitachi is limited to half the trigger to comply w/ radio interference regulations in other countrys. Hitachi biased the power of the motor for forward which due to the comutator/brushes position in reverse induces RFI. So reverse is only about 575 rpm versus the full 1150 in forward. The last generation Hitachi Rotary was made in Japan. This one is china(disapointing). So it loses a star for it's reverse and a star for being made in china!!!

Drilling was fine, but chiseling made it whine Nov 16, 2007 Product worked great initially for both drilling into concrete and chiseling off a very small area of fragile, old-fashioned stucco. Low vibration, and effective. Then all of a sudden it felt like a gear slipped, there was grease coming out By moving from reverse to forward and back, it slipped back into gear, but something was still not right as the chisel bit did not stay locked in position. Waiting to find out on repair options.
Excellent Tool Jul 18, 2007 I purchased this rotary hammer to drill holes in my concrete pad for anchoring posts. I had some trouble using smaller hammer drills so I figured this would speed up the process. It drilled a clean hole in the concrete w/ no effort. I have only used it once so far, but felt the need to post the review. Vibration was nothing compared to my other drill, and the DH24PF3 was much quieter. I was lucky to pick this up for half price at a big box store clearance sale, but after using it can definitely say it is worth every penny of full price.
