Buy the Hitachi CR13V instead Feb 12, 2010 I own both the CR13V and the CR13VBY UVP reciprocating saws. The only upside to the CR13VBY is the anti vibration technology. It runs smooth with no arm jarring which is great if your running the saw all day. The saw selector switch is rather useless as I didnt notice much difference in how it sawed through wood and it it seems underpowered for its weight. I also didnt care for the spring returned footplate as it gets binded up rather than flowing with your saws angles as it cuts. Save yourself some money and buy the Hitachi CR13V instead. Its lighter and rips through wood alot faster than the UVP saw. The only downside to the CR13V is that it has no anti vibration technology. Ive used both these saws side by side with new blades and the CR13V runs circles around the UVP model.

Better then Milwaukee Super Sawzall Mar 21, 2009 Picked this saw up on Amazon for $78.00 a month ago.First thing this saw is a little heavy, but man it cuts like a champ.I've used Dewalt and Milwaukee saws in the past and this blows it away.Quick blade changes and the anti-vibration does work well.I use the saw mostly to trim bark and cut down wood for my smoker.

Great Saw Feb 15, 2009 needed a saw that could cut without hesitation. While cutting pushed with considerable force to try and stall the blade, didn't even slow down. While shopping for this of tool found great range in the pricing. Locally $179-229.00. Online the least expensive was $169. Purchaced the say including delivery for less than $110. Very happy, look forward to using it this summer in the trees.

Sawzall Jul 16, 2008 Great tool, much better than a cordless one. Anti-vibration technology works very well. Tons of power and never seems to struggle. I have cut just about everything with it. Highly recommend. Only negative is its weight.

Nice & Heavy Sep 28, 2007 This is a great saw for bench work. It is very smooth and fast, and fits well in the hand even though it is larger than many others.
The only "fly in the oitment" is the weight, which is important if working on site, or under a vehicle as I have. Holding the saw up and cutting will rapidly fatigue the user. However, the saw is so fast and smooth that fatigue-creating positions will be thankfully short.
Blade change is easy, speed control using the trigger is nice as well.
If you can manage a 10 pound saw while upside down, or if that isn't so imprtant to you, then this saw is nearly perfect.
