| | Description | Hitachi Pro grade circular saw. Heavy duty 15A motor produces a no load speed of 5800 RPM for greater cutting efficiency through tough materials. Patented Internal Double Insulation (IDI) technology enables the aluminum housing to be intertwined with an injection molded inner nylon core to combine the durability of an all metal body tool with the double insulation advantages of a tool with plastic housing. Tool bearing sits in die cast aluminum, instead of plastic, to improve tool reliability and greatly extend tool life. Electric brake stops blade rotation within seconds preventing unintended cuts. Levers are made from die cast aluminum alloy for durability. Cutting and bevel levers are well placed and move smoothly during adjustments. Bevel capacity ranges from 0 to 55 with a positive stop at 45. Extra cut capacity to 55 is ideal for framing and cutting compound miter angles for more flexibility. Heavy duty aluminum base offers easy to read front and side scales for accurate measurements. Easily accessible carbon brush allows for quick and easy brush changes, user friendly maintenance. Lightweight at only 10.5 lb., this saw is easy to manuever and transport. Soft grip main and sub handles are ergonomically designed to increase grip and improve comfort. AC/DC switch is operable on any power supply including a generator for optimal convenience. Includes: Box wrench and 24T carbide tipped blade, size: 7 1/4''. | |

Depth adjustment not smooth Sep 12, 2008
By Nasar Azam The depth adjustment is not smooth. Dust gets trapped very easily and makes the depth adjustment difficult. Otherwise it is a good saw.

Great saw Jul 06, 2008
By N. Henderson I can't find anything I don't like about this saw. Good power, nice feel, easy to change blades. I couldn't find any other saw that performs this well in this price range and has an electric brake. Overall a great saw.

Very Good Saw Feb 22, 2010
By P.B.Y.
"Tato Mudre"
I just received this saw a couple of days ago. I have done some initial testing (plywood cutting). I have not yet used this saw for a significant amount of time yet. My intended use for this saw is to break down 3/4" birch plywwod to be used for kitchen cabinet carcasses. To do this I intend to use an EZ Smart Eurakazone base and guide system. The depth adjustment of the saw is not very smooth, but functions well enough. I was surprised that Hitachi did not install one of those numbersed depth of blade indicators near the rear of the depth/blade housing. this is Ok for me. Over 95% of my cutting will be with 3/4" and some 3/8" plywwod. Since I am going to use ths saw for finish cutting I did not install the supplied 24 tooth blade that came with the saw. I installed a new 60 tooth Freud finish blade. I made some initial trial cuts on some 3/4" OSB I had lying around. CUTS SMOOTH AS BUTTER! Plenty of power, very low vibrations, very good grips, very easy to control, and the cuts (with the Freud 60 tooth blade) were very smooth. Also brake stopped blade in about 2 to 3 seconds. For safety and to make a series of cuts rapidily the brake is a very good feature. I usually like to keep my tools in a case, but in this instance lack of a supplied case is not a problem. I intend to install the EZ Smart base which most likely would prevent it fitting into a stock case anyway. I just put the saw back in supplied card board box and dropped all into a $1.99 orange bag from the Big Orange Box Store. I'll will add to this review after I install on EZ Smart Base and Guide System and do some more cutting. All in all I am very satisifed with this purchase. This is a very good saw for the money, and the only one I could find of this quality and price range that comes with a brake. This weekend (3/15/10) I installed EZ Smart Base. I then (with the 60 tooth Freud Blade) cut a bunch of 3/4 OSB. Again, beautiful smooth cuts, Easy to Handle, very low vibration, great control. This weekend (4/2/10) I rip cut some 3/4" hard Maple for Face Frames with the saw. Once again, beautiful smooth cuts, Easy to Handle, very low vibration, great control ALLs GOOD with this saw.

Durable Sep 14, 2008
By James Foshee

I use this saw for light commercial use and I really like the magnesium plate. It is more durable than the aluminum plate model. It's nice to have a general duty saw with a blade brake too. I have used several Hitachi saws and found them all to be well worth the money. This one is definitely better than the one they sell at Lowe's though. Only down side is that it doesn't come with a case.

Hatichi C7BMR Circular Saw Apr 20, 2011
By Juli McDowell Nice solid, sort of heavy, feeling circular 7 1/4 saw. Came with good carbide tipped blade. Runs smooth, cuts straight, heavy base feels very substantial. Blade brake doesn't stop the blade rotation very fast - it still rotates for 10 -15 seconds after releasing the trigger. There is no safety button required to activate the start-up. Sort of nice for experienced users, but may be missed by those new or infrequent electric ciruclar saw users.
