Ground Rod Driver Oct 31, 2009
By BikerWalt

Solid - long coverage area keeps tool from jumping off rod - will fit nearly every ground rod out there, standard rods not a problem - very satisfied. Owner of an electrical contracting company and this gets a fair amount of use, no problems so far. Shipping was quick - easy - accurate. If you have a use for a driver - this one covers about anything out there.

Better than a hundred 10-lb hammers May 11, 2009

Love this thing. I use it to drive 1/2-inch rebar to hold landscaping timbers. Right into California hardpan clay and decomposed rock smooth as silk. Very solid single piece of hardened steel. Not sure why I never bought one before, would have been worth it to save my splintered sledge handle.
Turn ground rod and rebar into an easy chore May 12, 2012
By Oncle Willie Having once again banged my fingers using a small sledge hammer to drive a set of ground rods, I decided there had to be a better way. The ground rod driver is that better way. My first use was to drive three dozen six foot rebar rods into some hardpack clay soil. Hopped up onto a step stool, swung the hammer and driver onto the rebar and watched the rebar disappear into the ground. I have to admit, I giggled.
My next use was driving three eight foot ground rods into the same soil. I used my new light weight Hitachi demolition hammer. Onto the step stool, a couple of taps with a light hammer to seat the drive point and then started up the ground rod driver. Once again, the ground rod seemed to disappear into the ground.
As I get older, I find the dictum to work smarter, not harder to be pure genius. Using this ground rod driver to sink rebar, ground rods or anything that fits the driver is just working smarter. A solid tool that will see a fair amount of use over the next few years.

Wrong Description Aug 20, 2009

The title for this bit is incorrect. It is a 7/8 inch ground rod driver, not a 5/8 inch ground rod driver. Good product if you like the 7/8 inch inside diameter.

Wrong size Jul 18, 2010
By Joseph Obernuefemann I received the driver quickly, and just as quickly I found out that the 3/4 in shaft would not fit my 3/8 in shaft drill. Note: Shaft dimensions not listed. Returned to Amazon according to procedure, all OK.
