A very nice lil' tool. If you are using it for the lugs on your 4 x 4 truck----you are barking up the wrong tree!! This is a 18- volt cordless construction site tool, not a heavy duty pneumatic impact wrench like you find in the automotive industry, for crying out loud! If you are using it for the applications it is designed for, you will appreciate the addition to your quiver.....

I wanted this to remove lug nuts in auto applications. I was a little disappointed at first because it seemed weak. By the fourth wheel removed, the brushes seated and it was a completely different tool. It removed lugs in seconds and maked things a lot easier. It is good on batteries as well. It is surprisingly powerful for its size. I like that it is not bulky or heavy and quite portable.

Needed new tire for my truck and my friends truck got rear ended badly. I was able to swap the tires on both trucks with just one Li 3.0 AH battery. Worked when i needed it and worked like I expected it too.

Over the years I have owned many rechargable impact wrenches, this is by far the best by leaps and bounds. This is a replacement for my old one that was stolen. Highly recomend.

I have the full slew of Hitachi 18V Li cordless power tools and a dozen batteries, so another $120 for the stand-a-lone impact was extremely reasonable. The impact has respectable power in a very compact and light-weight package. We use the impact at the track for tire changes between runs with a torque-limiting socket. Everyone that has borrowed the tool has raved about the good power and extreme light weight. One battery typically lasts an entire day averaging 12-18 5-lug wheels. Build quality is excellent, the 1/2" drive lug and socket retainer pin is superb, and the body case is very durable. Two other teams have order the same impact with enthusiasm.
In my opinion, the only impact with better quality and power is the Milwaukee M18, but it is priced much higher at $870. The Hitachi is an uncommon bargain in today's market. I'm confident that the Hitachi will return dependable service for a long time to come. Hitachi stands by their 10-year warranty too.
